XpanD X103 3D Glasses in 12 Colors
Universal 3D glasses have been somewhat absent from the 3D accessories lists of manufacturers. Most of the 3D glasses
announced so far have been by the big television companies like Panasonic, Samsung, and Sony. Nvidia has it's pair of
3D glasses but they are aimed strictly at the PC gaming audience. Enter XpanD. Their new 3D glasses have been
advertised as being compatible with almost all the new 3D-ready televisions available, regardless of manufacturer.
Obviously, the glasses are functional but they do also
provide a stylish alternative to those simple black
colored 3D glasses on offer from most 3D television
manufacturers. The X103 glasses will be available in 12
colors and in adult and kid sizes. The cost will be
somewhere around $125 to $150 USD for a pair.
The element of fun is obvious with these glasses. XpanD is making a smart move by providing some added value with the
glasses, trying to make them more of a fashion statement and more of a personal touch. While the verdict is still out on
whether or not these glasses will be adopted by the fashion conscious remains to be seen. But we can definitely
envision a future of trendsetters sporting "name brand" 3D glasses... much like the Gucci handbag crowd of today.
Guess we'll see...
